Adolescent care is a subspecialty focusing on the care of patients who are in adolescent period. This period begins at puberty and lasts until the growth has stopped. The common problems of adolescents are growth development, mental health disorders, injury, legal consequences, childhood illness, pregnancy and infectious diseases. Adolescence is of three stages during the age, period of 10-12 years. During each stage various levels of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development began to take place. Mental health disorders in adolescence include depression, attention deficit-hyperactivity, eating disorders and anxiety. Adolescence is a time for growth, and puberty changes. Main health issues in the adolescence are injuries, unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death and disability among adolescents. Many those who died of injuries are vulnerable road users. Drowning is also a cause of death. In adolescents, teaching children to swim is an essential intervention to prevent these deaths. The other cause of death is depression, due to which patients commit suicides. Violence is the third leading cause of death in low and middle income countries. Globally 15-18years girls are being victim of emotional, physical and/or sexual violence. An estimated amount of approximately 2 million adolescents were living with HIV according to 2016 statistics, the majority are from African region. Early pregnancy and childbirth is the another leading cause of death for 15-19 year old girls globally is complications from pregnancy and childbirth. Harmful drinking adolescents is a major concern in many countries. It is an underlying cause of injuries, violence and premature deaths. Iron deficiency anemia was the second leading cause of years lost by the adolescents to death and disability in 2016. Tobacco usage is also the main cause of deaths in adolescents. One in 10 adolescents aged 13-15 years uses tobacco. More than 1million adolescents aged 10-19 years died in 2016, mostly from preventable, or treatable causes. Road accidents is the leading cause of death among adolescents in 2016, suicide, interpersonal violence, HIV/AIDS, and diarrhea diseases. Around 1.2 billion people, or One in Six of the world’s population, are adolescents aged 10 to 19. Investigating in adolescent care is important because it is a unique development phase of human and also because of particular disease that is born by adolescents populations. Changes with puberty may happen or several signs may become visible at the same time. WHO carries out functions to improve the health of adolescents. People exposed to violence, unprotected sex, lack of physical activity use of tobacco and alcohol not only spoils their present health, even the health of their future children also. The health sustainability development goal is to eradicate the disease and habits that are harmful to present and future generations such as hepatitis, AIDS, communicable disease, malaria, water-borne disease and tuberculosis. Young health services are specialized services that provide primary health care to young people. They respond immediately to young peoples request to support, assist and share a common philosophy which values social justice, holistic, and equity view of young people’s health and well-being.
