Dr. Rashida Soni is a surgical pathologist at Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia with special interest and specialty in Breast pathology and Oncologic pathology. She did her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology training with fellowships in surgical pathology and cytopathology at University of Southern California/Keck School of Medicine and is a teaching faculty at USC. She also serves as a co-investigator at a prestigious Clinical Trial organization and helps validate tests to determine targeted therapies for cancers. She is a past recipient of Medical School teaching award at USC. During her career in pathology she has published several peer reviewed articles and authored book chapters. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of pathology, previously working at a renowned cancer center like USC/Norris Cancer Hospital and now as a medical director of pathology and laboratory medicine at Henry Mayo Hospital. She practices a specific method of processing breast lumpectomies for margins intraoperative and helps breast surgeon to get adequate margin clearance at the time of first surgery thus reducing the need of second surgery significantly.
