The influence of nurse educator role preparation on faculty teaching methods
Karen Mittura is a full-time Professor within the Associate Degree Nursing program at Germanna Community College located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA. She possesses over twenty years of nurse educator experience and has held various faculty and leadership roles as a nurse educator. She actively teaches across the Concept-Based Curriculum and participated in the state-wide development of a common curriculum in Virginia. Additionally, she assists in the coordination of all clinical faculty assignments and the mentoring process of all faculty members. To facilitate clinical faculty development, she developed a Clinical Academy which she presents annually. She is completing her DNP at Case Western University in education leadership. In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her family and travel.
